Wishlist feature

A wishlist for every occasion

Keep one list for Christmas, one for the new flat, or one for family and another for friends. Each group sees the list you pick, and the same list can show in several groups at once. Part of Pro.

When one list has to suit everyone

Your family, your friends and your colleagues all shop from the same wishlist. The cookbook your mum would love sits next to the concert tickets your friends planned to split, and the office birthday group sees both. Christmas ideas pile up beside things for the new flat, and nobody can tell what’s meant for when.

With Pro, you can keep up to 10 wishlists and choose which one each group sees. Everyone starts with one list called My wishlist, which is your default. Add a list for Christmas, one for the new flat, or one for family and one for friends, and name each one. People in your groups only ever see your name, as in “Maya’s wishlist”, so the names you pick are just for you. Claiming works the same on every list, just like your birthday wishlist.

How multiple wishlists work

Several lists, one choice per group, and nothing to keep in sync by hand.

  • A wishlist for each occasion

Start a new list and give it a name, like “Christmas” or “For the new flat”. On Pro, each list holds up to 50 items. Your first list, My wishlist, is your default: it’s picked for you when you join or start a group.

  • Each group sees one of your wishlists

Every birthday or Secret Santa group sees one of your lists. Pick it when you join or create the group, and switch any time from the group’s page or from the list’s own page. Gifts people already claimed stay theirs to give.

  • One wishlist, several groups

Show the same list in as many of your groups as you like. It’s one list, not a copy, so when you add or change a wish, every group that sees it gets the change at once.

  • Copy wishes between wishlists

Copy a wish to another list, copy several over at once, or start a new list as a copy of one you already have. Copies are separate wishes, so changing one doesn’t change the other.

Bring your wishes to an event

Events, like a wedding, a 60th or a baby shower, work a little differently. The event has one shared wishlist that all its honorees own together, so a couple builds one list instead of two.

If you’re an honoree, you can import wishes from your own lists: when you create the event and choose It’s for me, or any time later from the event’s page. Importing again only adds wishes that aren’t on the event’s wishlist yet, never duplicates, and it points out any that might already be there because they have the same name or link. You can still add wishes straight to the event’s wishlist, and importing works on every plan.

How to add a second wishlist

From one list to one for each occasion.

  1. Step 1

    Start a new wishlist

On your wishlist page, tap New wishlist. Name it, like “Christmas” or “For the new flat”, and start with an empty list or a copy of one you have.

  2. Step 2

Choose the groups that see it

Tick the groups that should see the new list. You can change this any time, in the wishlist’s settings or on each group’s page.

  3. Step 3

Add wishes and let them shop

Add wishes, or copy them over from your other lists. People in those groups see your wishlist and claim from it as usual, without seeing what you named it.

Made for the way you give

Different people, different occasions, one place to keep it all.

  • A wishlist per occasion

Christmas, your birthday, the new flat: give each its own list and its own name.

  • A wishlist per circle

Show family one list and friends another, or show the same list to all of them.

  • Edit once, see it everywhere

A list shown in several groups is the same list, so a change shows up in all of them at once.

  • Names stay private

Others see “Maya’s wishlist”, never what you called the list.

  • Copy, don’t retype

Copy wishes between your lists, or start a new list as a copy of another.

  • Claims are safe

Switch the list a group sees, and gifts people already claimed stay theirs to give.

Free and Pro

On Free, you have 1 wishlist with up to 5 items, and every group you’re in sees it. Pro lets you keep up to 10 wishlists with up to 50 items on each, and choose which one each group sees. See pricing for everything else Pro adds.

If you go back to Free, nothing is deleted. All your groups see your default wishlist, and you can choose which one that is any time. Your other wishlists are kept as they are and go back to the groups that saw them if you return to Pro. You add wishes to your default wishlist, up to 5.

Frequently asked questions

How many wishlists can I have?

On Free, you have 1 wishlist with up to 5 items. Pro lets you keep up to 10 wishlists, each with up to 50 items.

Can two groups see the same wishlist?

Yes. One list can show in as many of your groups as you like. It’s the same list everywhere, not a copy, so when you add or change a wish, every group that sees it gets the change at once.

Do people see the names of my wishlists?

No. List names are just for you. People in your groups only see your name, as in “Maya’s wishlist”, whichever list it is.

How do I choose which wishlist a group sees?

When you join or create a group, your default wishlist is picked for you, and you can choose another one there. To switch later, change it on the group’s page, or open the wishlist’s settings and tick the groups that should see it.

What happens to claimed gifts if I switch wishlists?

They stay with the people who claimed them. Anyone who already picked a gift from the old list can still give it; the wish just isn’t shown in that group anymore.

What happens if I go back to Free?

Nothing is deleted. All your groups see your default wishlist, and you can make any of your wishlists the default whenever you like, which switches every group to it. The others are kept as they are, and each group goes back to the wishlist it saw if you return to Pro. On Free you add wishes to your default wishlist, up to 5; you can still edit, copy from or delete the others.

Can honorees bring their own wishlist to an event?

Yes. Weddings, 60ths, baby showers and other events have one shared wishlist that the honorees own together. Any honoree can import wishes from their own lists, when creating the event (choose It’s for me) or later from the event’s page. They can still add wishes straight to the event’s wishlist too.

Will importing again duplicate wishes?

No. Importing again only adds wishes that aren’t on the event’s wishlist yet. It also points out wishes that might already be there because they have the same name or link, so you can decide. Your own lists stay as they are.
