How do invite links work?
Each group gets a unique invite link. Share it through any channel — text, email, Slack, WhatsApp, or whatever your group uses. When someone clicks the link, they're taken to GiftCrew where they can sign up (or sign in) and instantly join the group. The link can be reused and doesn't expire, so new members can join at any time.
Can I be in multiple groups?
Yes, absolutely. Most people have separate groups for family, friends, coworkers, and other social circles. Each group has its own separate wishlist visibility and claiming — so items claimed in your family group don't affect your friends group. Free accounts can join up to 3 groups, while Pro accounts support up to 20.
What happens when someone claims an item?
When a group member claims an item from a birthday person's wishlist, the item is immediately marked as claimed for all other group members. They can see who claimed it, which helps with coordination. The birthday person, however, sees nothing — to them, all items still appear unclaimed and the surprise is preserved.
Can I unclaim an item if I change my mind?
Yes, you can unclaim an item at any time before the birthday. The item becomes available again for other group members to claim. This flexibility means there's no pressure when you first claim something — if your budget changes or you find a better gift idea, you can easily adjust.
Is group chat available on the free plan?
