Instead of being tied to a single store, the event gets a shared wishlist where the honorees add ideas with links, photos, and notes from anywhere online. On top of that, GiftCrew adds the part registries usually lack: real-time coordination. As people claim items, the list updates for everyone, so you get the convenience of a registry plus coordination that helps everyone avoid duplicates.
Can multiple people be celebrated in one event?
Yes. Plenty of occasions honor more than one person — a couple at a wedding or anniversary, two graduates in the same family, or co-workers retiring together. You can name up to 10 honorees on a single event, each of them can edit the shared wishlist, and the claiming system protects the surprise for all of them at once. Everyone else still coordinates in the same shared space, so there's no need to split things into separate groups.
Can honorees use the wishlists they already keep?
Yes. An honoree can import wishes from their own GiftCrew lists — when creating the event (choose It’s for me) or later from the event’s page. Importing again only adds wishes that aren’t on the event’s wishlist yet, never duplicates, and it points out ones that might already be there because they have the same name or link. Honorees can still add wishes straight to the event’s wishlist too.
Will the honorees see the gifts being claimed?
No. This is the core of how GiftCrew works. The honorees build the wishlist and see it and the countdown, but they never see who has claimed which item or the event chat. Every other member of the event group sees claims update in real time so they can avoid duplicates and coordinate. The result is a perfectly organized group effort that still lands as a genuine surprise on the day.
How far in advance should I create the event?
Earlier is better, especially for larger occasions like weddings and showers where guests need time to choose, buy, and ship gifts. Creating the event two to four weeks ahead gives everyone room to browse the wishlist without rushing, and the live countdown plus reminders at 14, 7, 3, and 1 days out (and on the day itself) keep momentum going. For smaller gatherings, even a week of lead time is usually plenty.
